Well, that was underwhelming. I'd been debating all week whether to make trip to Ethan's beach house in Troncones this weekend, and once I discovered that a) Paulina was flaking out on visiting me *again* (she had to go to New York City for her job) and b) Teresa couldn't hang out either (she had to go to Mexico City for *her* job) it was all but settled. Unfortunately, Zander pulled out at the last minute and the bungalow we stayed in, while nice, was virtually teaming with insects and a $20 cab ride away from any place worth going to. To top it all off, my camera ran out of batteries just before we left (I did get the above picture from the roof of Evan's house just prior, though), meaning that I have literally nothing to show for the whole excursion but literally hundreds of Mosquito bites, which now cover me like some kind of biblical rash.
I did get to bond with Evan though, who I previously referred to as Life of the Party Guy. While still the life of the party, Evan has proved to be a much more interesting and sophisticated dude than I initially gave him credit for. Unfortunately I also had to spend the weekend with Cute Flirty Girl who, while still both cute and flirty, has proven to be even more annoying than I ever thought she could be. We spent a lot of time ditching her to go swimming (and at night, getting lost) on the gorgeous Troncones beaches, which were basically deserted except for us.

All the same, I would have rather stayed in Morelia, if only to catch up on my school work. Our midterm grades came in last week, and let's just say that my joke about failing Sociologia just stopped being funny to me. I wouldn't care too much, but I need a B-average in this program to get to Spain, and there's no way I'm changing my plans for the next year due to a grade I receive here. However, that means that I need to buckle down this week and make sure I do a phenomenal job on my presentations about El Pipila (pictured above) and Mexico's economic structure. My dad is making his first trip down to Mexico to see me next weekend, and Paulina swears she's coming to visit me then too, so Lord knows I have to get all of my busy-work done now or never.

~ I still love your system of nicknaming... it's something that definitely picked up in speed for me in China. Did you ever read my note with Grape Ape and Vanilla Gorilla? We named another waitress Orangutang (remember that orange drink crap?).
~omg good call on Rebuilding the Rights of Statues. Amazing. I actually was able to listen to just about every song on my ipod when I was in China, so I'm definitely on the lookout for something new. For the mean time I'm probably going to download the LCD album(god, that acronym is indeed troublesome).
~haha that sucks about your grades, dude, I know the feeling. "Study Abroad" just isn't about studying, is it? It's why my school inflates study abroad grades a whole grade point. I know. Ridiculous. The hell didn't I go for a year?
~Daddy's coming?! That's awesome. I await your entry about that :D
~Busuraian
Yeah, I'm really digging "TV Show (Hang the Police)" and "Boys in Cage." According to iTunes, their EP is available in America, so I might wait until I get back to pick it (which is, I know, in forever).
I did indeed read that note on the nicknames, and I actually commented on it, I think. I remember Sassy distinctly, as she sounded both scary and oddly alluring at the same time.
I seriously wish they would just inflate my grades, because I feel like I'm learning just fine in my classes but my composition and grammar are still shit. But who gives a fuck about that anyway? All I want to do is be able to communicate with people. Argg..
And yes, I'm sure daddy and I will have an "interesting" time. He's started signing his e-mails with "Dadiolo" which is apparently his attempt at Spanglish. I think that will be a very special blog update, indeed.....
~Yeah RtRoS certainly does have an EP/half album on itunes, but it might be just be worth it to download the whole album from tagteam records, since I already downloaded two songs from their site...
interesting.... the LonelyCD album is up on itunes. I swear it wasn't just a few weeks ago.
~Oh yeah I remember now. Yeah, unfortunately Sassy shot down all of my advances so I couldn't bring her back to America. shucks.
~Anyway, it was Dannnyyyyyy's birthday yesterday, but when I called him, Kevin answered, which was a bit strange, and I never got a call back. argh. But it certainly doesn't help that I dropped my phone in the sink and am not getting a new one till this weekend.
~Yeah, language study really just is frustrating sometimes. I admit I've been slacking off studying my kanji/Chinese characters mostly because it's so simple to type them. (more like have the computer type them for you, as long as you know how to read them)
~"Dadiolo"? hahahaha... although I admit I don't know your dad that well, I can imagine he does goofy things like that from time to time.
